ALL OVER AT THE ROYAL OAK. AND WHAT A FAREWELL GIG!
The Royal Oak, Stoke on Trent has been a regular monthly gig for Booker for a couple of years.
Sadly, due to it's owner and Landlord moving on to pastures new, Booker announced his final show at this amazing little venue to take place on September 25th 2010.

WHAT A NIGHT THAT WAS!
The gig went extremely well and just as Booker was about to start his second set, the stage was hijecked by a good number of the audience and regulars, who over the years had become loyal and regular fans of the show.

The guys then proceeded to take over the show for the next hour with a set of their own songs, written for Booker as thanks for the entertainment over the years.

It was an incredible night and very moving. Harriet Newman, not even 15 years old, took to the mic with Ellie in support to sing a beautiful song and really set the bar.
Followed by tunes from Diane Perry, Stu and Ellie, The Smallwoods, Dan and Ash and an original work by Nige and Karen woods, which was as moving as it was hilarious.

Booker then closed the night with his second set, culminating in a brillient and more than energetic rendition of Gogol Bordello's 'Start Wearing Purple', which the crowd at the Oak took, owned and made a fitting end to the night and to the Under Covers Show at The Royal Oak with.

A night NEVER to be forgotten!

FIRST BOOKER GIG IN CARLISLE - "BRILLIANT NIGHT".
Booker played his first Carlisle gig on 24th April at the The Rose & Crown, a restaurant and pub by day and during live events, a fantastic live music venue with a brilliant vibe, tucked away in a town called 'Low Hesket'.

The Under covers show ran through the night, well past midnight and was the end show in a full days St. George's day celebrations.

This is a venue that Booker hopes to return to as the show went so well. "The crowd and people of Low Hesket were fantastic! Once they got warmed up and into the show it was oustanding. The only disappointment was in having to end the show. It was one of those nights".

The hospitality of both the crowd and the venue owners (Linda & Keith) was outstanding throughout the night and a big thanks to them for everything.
